Coming out with a blaze of pyrotechnics, Kanye West hit off
his performance with a bang, however
the rest of the performance is up for the debate. ITV muted most of the
performance because of Kanye West’s excessive use of language which I believed
ruined the whole point of performance and those watching at home could probably
say the same.

If you were lucky enough to attend the awards night, I guess
you heard and saw it all, the music mogul Lionel Richie commented saying: ‘The
N-word should not become normal’ which I also believe is true. Rapper
Trinidad James, commentator Ben Ferguson clash over use of n-word. The debate
highlights the question who can really say N-word?
Nonetheless, some people also commented on the performance
saying that it was promoting the London riots, which is silly and extreme,
because they saw a lot of men wearing black hoodies on stage
People should remember:

Some
people on that are stage are well established artists.However, in my opinion the
performance did show Kanye West embracing grime UK artists and their world. By
looking at the performance it looked as if they just decided a couple hours
before to meet up and wear some black hoodies and jump on stage

But if this really was a
collaboration then artists such as Skepta and Krept and Konan should have at
least got a verse on the song but instead they are there swaying and rocking side
to side, standing behind Kanye West.
Will the UK Grime music industry
collaborate again with Kanye West? What is next for Kanye West because his
problems are continuously growing, there is a petition to even cancel his slot
at Glastonbury. When Kanye West is around there also story to tell.

Kanye west chose to embrace the grime culture which I respect him for, however when you think about the stereotypes associated with the culture and the consant use of the n-word, its no surprise that ITV; a British broadcaster has muted this. I myself felt it was inappropriate to use the n-word espcailly considering the audience for The Brits, and the controversy around this topic still remains apparent. In relation to the complains made on the type of clothing, Im sure this has been done deliberately to create awareness and change sterotypes. Despite there was a mob of men in Hoodies and black clothing, amongst them were many successful artists and business men.

DeleteI love the fact that Kanye decided to embrace the UK music scene. The excessive use of the N word was abit extreme considering the type of event but thats the kind of artist he is! he has been doing this for YEARS and he has been accepted so i don't understand why everyones making a big issue as far as to go and make a petition to even cancel his slot at Glastonbury. You cannot judge someone by the way they look and its ridiculous to label these guys in correspondence to the riots. Many of these men are successful artists and out here making money! I think TALENT comes before everything else.
